HP’s QTP(Quick Test Professional) with its latest version release11.5 is now called as UFT (Unified Functional Tester).UFT is the combination of QTP and ST (Service Test) tools where QTP is the GUI testing tool and Service test is the API testing tool. UFT is HP’s main automated regression and functional testing tool. The tool has its maximum benefits on results validation, reports and navigation.

UFT 11.5 comes with a lot of new features like new checkpoint for checking file content, new output value for capturing file content and the new recording mode for recording any control or object that is displayed on the screen. Using the latest IDE you can work on multiple tests at the same time and also edit more than one action at the same time. These new features are not available in the previous versions of HP testing tools.

The tool uses VB script for specifying the test procedure. The latest version of QTP supports programming languages like Java and .NET and other technologies like Oracle, Siebel, PeopleSoft, web services and so on.

With the growth of mobile platform like smart phones and tablets, UFT provides a better support for mobile testing. UFT is used on both real time devices and emulators. UFT also provides support to open source CI (Continuous Integration) systems like Jenkins and Hudson
